Your Family Therapist, Sara Hadgraft,
LMFT, LPC, NCC
Your Marriage Feels Stuck. Your Family Feels Fractured. And You’re Not Sure What to Do Next.
Maybe you and your partner are hanging on by a thread; still committed, but exhausted by the distance, the tension, the same fight on repeat.
Or maybe you’re long past that point. You’re separated, navigating co-parenting, and wondering if peace is ever going to feel possible again.
And sometimes, you’re somewhere in between; unsure if your relationship can be repaired, but not ready to walk away without trying.
Wherever you are, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
I help couples and families find a path forward; one that honors your values, your children, and your emotional well-being.
Hi, I’m Sara Hadgraft.
Sara Hadgraft LMFT, LPC, NCC, AAMFT Supervisor
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. For over 30 years, I’ve worked with couples and families in some of their most painful and complex seasons: divorce, high-conflict co-parenting, disconnection, and relationship repair.
In many ways, I started my career working with the hardest cases: families in crisis, couples already on the path toward divorce, and parents trying to navigate conflict while protecting their children.
And that experience shaped everything about how I work today.
Because I’ve seen what happens when patterns go unaddressed.
I’ve also seen what’s possible when couples are given the right tools, structure, and space to do the work.
Why I Focus on Couples Intensives
After years of doing traditional weekly therapy, I began to notice a pattern:
Couples would come in motivated, but progress was slow.
Sessions were interrupted by busy schedules, emotional burnout, or simply the difficulty of picking back up where they left off week after week.
They wanted change.
But they weren’t gaining momentum.
I wanted more for my clients, and they wanted more for themselves.
That’s what led me to shift my focus to Couples Counseling Intensives.
What Is a Couples Intensive?
A couples intensive is a focused, immersive experience designed to help you move through stuck patterns more quickly and effectively.
Instead of spending months in 50-minute sessions, we spend several hours together in one day (or multiple days):
Identifying the core patterns driving your conflict
Understanding what’s happening beneath the surface
Practicing new ways of communicating in real time
Beginning meaningful repair work together
We don’t just talk about change, we start creating it in the room.
This Format Is Especially Helpful If:
You feel disconnected but still committed to your relationship
You’re stuck in repeating cycles of conflict, criticism, or avoidance
You want to make meaningful progress quickly
Your schedules make weekly therapy difficult
You’re at a crossroads and unsure whether to stay or separate
Whether you leave feeling more connected, more grounded, or simply more clear. You will leave with movement.
Why My Background Matters for This Work
Not all couples therapy is the same, and not all therapists are trained to do intensive work.
My approach is shaped by years of working with:
High-conflict couples
Divorce and co-parenting dynamics
Family systems under stress
Relationship repair after deep rupture
I don’t just look at surface-level communication.
I help you understand the patterns underneath and how to change them.
My Training & Expertise
I’ve pursued extensive training in both couples therapy and complex family systems, with a strong focus on working with high-conflict relationships, divorce, and long-standing relational patterns.
